A. Title: THE CHALLENGE OF CLINICAL DECISION-MAKING in Private Dental Practice!
B. Description: Clinical decision making is fundamental to dental practice. Some argue that an important part of dental care position itself in the ‘‘gray zone‘‘, where the criteria for determining ‘‘good‘‘ or ‘‘bad‘‘ treatment are unclear.
We are in this business of serving people, which means maintaining and restoring their oral health and doing so without violating the basic principles of good health and overall health. The unifying principle is that when faced with a difficult choice, we should strive to resolve it by consulting the people we serve: what matters to them and how they weigh the various consequences, rather than the superficial and biased science of manufacturers and their loyal speakers.
C. Educational Objectives: The participants will be reintroduced to the term “Gray Zone” in medicine, which may influence their clinical practice and the well-being of their patients. They will be able to make better decisions based on fundamentals of basic knowledge and skills without biased influences, to balance the art, science, and use of proven technology in dental medicine!
